Memorial Day

We wanted to do something on Memorial Day. So we went to Bridal Vail Falls and walked and played. I specifically said "Boys don't get all wet!"
"Ok" they all say as they walk straight through the water with their shoes on! oh-well, it was a fun day with Nichole, Nic, Amber, Masen and Jaxen! After that we all went to a park in the canyon and had a picnic lunch while the kids played on the playground and explored. We also went to my uncles house for a BBQ that night with my family, but I didn't get any pictures.

Fun times...

We have had some fun and funny times over the past few days, so I wanted to post some pictures.

This is Tate giving Todd a shoulder ride. Look no hands!

Tanner likes to climb in the pantry...problem is he can't get out.

On Sunday the boys wanted to sleep in a fort. So we built one, in the front room. They LOVED it!

The best kind of times are ones that we spend with each other! My boys are awesome!

Our Story

Once upon a time in a luscious green and white land of Provo High, lived (Ok attended) a (then) very cute girl named Connie. Connie would spend her time studying so as to pass her classes, the other 12 hours a day she would spend with her friends. Giggling helplessly at the boys in the land, wishing that she could find the right one that would sweep her off her feet and take her away to Classic Skating or to the next "stomp" (dance) for a night. She would dream of that night skating, or awkwardly swaying, around and around in endless circles, to the slow songs.
In the land of Provo High also lived (I mean attended) a handsome boy named Todd. Todd would spend his days playing football, football practice, and lifting weights for football. In in his spare time (all 3 hours of the day) he would laugh deeply with his friends while at Classic Skating and in the hall ways of fair land, looking for the next cute girl to take to the stomp. He would sweep her off her feet, or roller blades, and skate or sway the hours away.
It just so happened one September day their paths crossed. They were introduced through a friend (sort of) and decided to meet the next day for an assembly. Assembly day they clicked instantly! It was a great day in the land of Provo High. Bells rang, people cheered and gave high fives all around (ok so maybe it also happened to be the day of the pep rally) But two people couldn't be more meant for each other and fall hopelessly in love! From the time their eye's first met they were inseparable. In May of 1999 they decided to make it official and get married!
And they lived happily ever after.....

Ok so that's not EXACTLY how it happened. But 10 years, 5 beautiful boys, later it's true. We are still married! We can't say our wedding day was the happiest day for us, but it definitely has brought on the best 10 years of our lives! We have worked and pushed and struggled to make it this far. We've made it past all the mile stones that so many said, and we feared, we wouldn't make it past. I am so happy that we are able to celebrate our 10 years married (11 1/2 years together) You are the greatest Todd! Here's to the next 10,20,30, 50...forever years, I love you!

Leg vs Trampoline

On our way home from St. George on Tues. we got a call saying that Tobyn had hurt his leg on Mon night and he still wasn't wanting to put any pressure on it. The storries vary, we figure it was on the trampoline and power bouncing was involved...if he landed on the bar (story 1) or landed on his leg funny (story 2) or landed on his leg and it buckled (story 3) we don't know for sure. We told my mother-in-law to go a head and take him in we would be home soon.
After a Dr. appointment and x-rays it was confirmed that it is broken. The good news is that it is a very small break, not too bad at all. The Dr. said that if it wasn't impossible to have a 3 year old little boy stay off of his leg for 3 weeks he wouldn't worry about casting it. But considering it's Tobyn we're talking about, probably one of the most active little kids I've seen, he figured a cast would be good to protect it and give it some support.
This brings our total to 2 broken bones and 1 set of stitches, in 10 years of having little boys. Not too bad if I say so my self...off to find some wood to knock on!

Ahhhhh......

Todd and I just got back from such a nice a weekend (or week beginning) in St. George. It was SO nice! Todd and I have never had a chance to get a way with out children. I have been pregnant or nursing, since being married, and we had this great chance to go for 3 days! The boys stayed with my in-laws and had a good time. It allowed me to relax with out worrying. Thanks again Teresa and my mom!
Knowing our 10 year anniversary was coming, we saved and with out too much money spent we were able to enjoy a very nice couple of days! We stayed in a cute B&B. We enjoyed a nice breakfast every morning, a pool in the hot afternoon, and going to a nice dinner in the evening. It's hard to take pictures when It's just us two and we didn't do anything super exciting. We did go mini-golfing one day and toured the Brigham Young winter home. We also walked around the outlet and drove past the temple. We took a book (yes, the twilight series again!) and got a lot of reading done! Again, so nice when you don't have some one yelling "MOM!" every two or three minutes.
Thanks again, babe for a wonderful time and the chance to spend time just with you!

The golfing experience...

The Brigham Young Winter Home. The plates in the picture are steam plates. They would fill the bottom with hot water to keep the dinner warm while they ate. I think it's a great idea! Mom's every where could enjoy a hot meal if those were still around :-)

We were excited to see our cute boys when we got home....The only down side to coming home...
Yup folks...it's broken. More pics and explanation of him when it's in a hard cast.

Call me an early bird...

I've crossed over to the dark side...meaning I'm up before there is light! Todd convinced me to get a gym pass. All his buddies work out a little later than Todd can...so I became the new work out buddy. I have to admit at first I was a little unwilling, and groaning about getting up at 5:00 a.m. to go to a smelly gym and do exercises I wasn't quite sure about. But that attitude has changed! Although I am still tired when I wake up, I am finding that going with Todd has given me a new attitude about the whole thing. Knowing I am going to get that beach body I have dreamed about for years keeps me going!
I have decided that it's OK, that I can be a little selfish now. I am finally in a time where my body is my own. I am not nursing, pregnant, and not planning on getting pregnant for the first time in the 10 years I have been married. It feels so good to make this very early morning time mine...even though it's shared with Todd, a sacrifice I am willing to make :-)
So here's to keeping the dream alive...and getting up at 5:00 a.m. 5 days a week!

Sweet Testimony

I wanted to record this while it was still fresh in my mind. (considering I use this blog as part of my journal)

Today was Fast and Testimony Meeting. It started as a good meeting. I was trying hard to listen and to absorb the testimonies that were being said. I wanted to feel the spirit and to have the peace that comes with Sunday. The first testimony that struck hard was a simple testimony given by a friend that stated the simple but full truth that the gospel is true. The things we go through are for our own good and the God loves us and knows that we exist and if we need to find that for our selves the answers are there. We can ask and it will be given.
I have learned through time and experience that it is not always easy to get the answer to KNOW that the gospel is true, that God lives and loves us, and that things happen for a reason. The answers don't always come easy, but it will come of we have the desire and want to know. Sometimes it comes in a way we are not always expecting. Heavenly Father knows us the best of anyone, including our self, the answer of confirmation WILL come! Whether it be a prophet proclaiming the sacred, holy, act of what Jesus did for all of us, or with a simple, sweet testimony from the ones we love.
The second testimony I heard today that touched more than I could ever realize, was born by my dear sweet Titus. This is (from what I remember) what was said:
"I love my mom, she does nice things for me. She makes me breakfast, lunch and dinner. She buys me clothes, so I can wear them . I love her and know the church is true. Amen"
So simple, so sweet and all said with a tear or two in his eyes. It made me grateful on so many levels. It touched me because one; obviously I have a bias opinion so that fact he was talking about me made my heart swell. Two, he got up with out prompting and said what he knew to be true in his heart. It might not have been about some great principal of the church. But he knew what he said to be true. He had the guts to stand in front of a chapel full of people and say what he felt in his heart. I even looked over and saw a tear (or two) run down his dad's face.
It made me feel good to know that some how, just possibly, I am making a difference in my children's lives (the seed is being planted) and I wouldn't trade them for the world! I hope, with all hope that the simpleness of those few but sweet words were felt by the ones I love and hope they touch them as much as the touched me.
I will add my testimony... I know that the gospel is true! Have I had my doubts? Maybe once and a while, but when I get that quiet, loving, response in my heart that confirms what I already know, there is no doubt! Heavenly Father has blessed me with a wonderful family and has given me the chance to be a mother, wife and daughter and I cherish those responsibilities with all my heart. And though it may be chanlanging at times, I smile and hold on to every minute of it!
