Tuesday tib-bit

Found Pinterest! LOVE IT! So many new ideas!

I have decided my kids are growing up so darn fast. Tanner is saying the darndest things!

I hate bugs...but that's nothing new.

REALLY wish I could do something fun with my backyard. Not just let it be a half-lawned-mostly weeds-bug-attracting-blah. Might as well wait for the house we own, someday...

Found some good Halloween projects and working on my gifts.

Thats it. Not much to think about...

oh-yeah...today is Tobyn 6th birthday. WTHeck I swear Titus just turned 6! What was that about kids growing up so fast?!

Boys Night

For the past little while we, the boys and I, have started a tradition of having "boys night" whenever Connie leaves for the night. Last night Connie was able to go to women's conference. The boys have been getting money for their birthdays and finally saved up enough to buy some Beyblades (Little toys that have a rip-pull hand held spinning fighting guys).

After we drove 30 minuets to Wal-mart, and getting over the rush of OWNING their own Beyblades, I went and found a dirt road and let them all drive. Tobyn and Tanner drove from my lap and keep asking to go faster. TC, Titus and Tate all drove by themselves. Tate went first and did awesome, TC went next and tried to run us in to some 8" log post that were blocking a closed road, Titus just wanted to drive it like a four-wheeler. We all had a blast, and they made me promise to take them again soon.

I can't believe how fast they are all growing up. TC is passing the sacrament, and had to lead the hymn his first time going to priesthood. He was a little nervous and was waving his had around about 50 mph. He did a good job. Titus wanted to run for student council but we missed the date to enter. He is looking forward to going to 5th grade camp with all his buddies. Tate is having fun exploring the back yard with his friends, and has found all sorts of cool things. Tobyn loves school. He comes home exhausted and loves to ride the bus with his brothers. Tanner gets bored durning the day being the only one home. He is growing up and starting to act, and talk, like a big boy (Connie is a little sad about that).

I love spending time with the boys. I love watching them grow and learn. I love helping them with problems in life and at school. I love working on scouts with them and seeing them having fun with it. I love hearing the stories they tell me about school, or the adventures they have in the field behind our house. All-in-all, I love being a dad and wouldn't change it one bit!

Creepy Crawlys

*WARNING! IF YOU DON'T LIKE CREEPY CRAWLY THINGS DON'T CONTINUE READING!*

We've had some interesting spider OUTSIDE of our house lately! I guess that's what you get when your surrounded by fields. I HATE bugs!! We have a ton of them. But as I said before they have been OUTSIDE! I can deal with them there. Just as long as they are not inside!

Believe it or not this thing is just a baby. It was pretty small and we've seen bigger. You don't want to kill these guys though, because they eat the bugs you don't want.

Check out the mouth!

This was in our garage. I was cleaning some things up and I called Todd out to look at it. It looked furry, but kind of weird. Look closer.......

...That stuff on it's back is BABIES! GROSS!!!!!!!! I didn't squish it though. I made Todd put it out in one of the fields. Yuck!! I really really hate bugs! Did I mention we have an armadillo that was digging up our yard? Well we did, and someone told us Cayenne pepper works...so far so good!

So many crazy things here! I don't know if I'll ever get used to them all.

Tuesday tid-bit!

School.

School is going pretty good for me. It's been a little rough this class with moving and all. I hope fully will scrape by with a C. I haven't got into a really hard class yet,but only taking one at a time shouldn't be too much of a problem. The class I am taking now is Perspectives. It's all about learning to draw in perspective. Pretty crazy! I know it's all basic stuff, but it doesn't come so natural to someone who doesn't draw much. Once we got past basic shapes, I got to draw some rooms and that was a lot of fun!

I am mostly posting this for journaling sake. Just to see what I say in a few years :-)

The boys school is going well. They are enjoying it I think. TC is getting more and more used to switching classes every period, finding his way around the school, and making more friends. He has more homework, but it could be worse ;-) He is in percussion at school and he has a lot of fun with it! Luckily it's just a pad right now to learn the beats and stuff so we don't have to worry about lots of drum pounding and stuff.

Titus seems to be doing pretty good also. He really wanted to go out for Student Council, but we miss-read the due dates and he missed it. We were all pretty bummed! But over-all I think things are going good. He likes his class and the kids in it. He is having fun being at the top grade of the school (Elm here only goes to 5th grade). He gets to be in charge of making sure all of the brothers are on the bus.

Tate is having fun in his class. I've heard from several people he has a great teacher (I think all of them do) and he is making friends quickly. He doesn't complain too much about homework. lol. He talks about his "miming" buddies all day. I'm pretty sure all they do is act like they're in a box. (he he he) Love it though!

Tobyn is LOVING school! It's full-day 'round here and he's ok with it. I think he seems so young to be in school, but he is almost 6! He comes home pretty beat after school. He is learning to read a bit and loves it. He gets so excited to show me his folder each day. And as usual has charmed over the teacher. I swear that smile and nod will fool anybody!

I'm so happy they are all adjusting Ok. I know it's not a huge deal, but as a mom (or parent) you worry so much about how they'll do. Especially after so many moves.

12 years old!

I can't believe this handsome guy is 12! He is growing up SO fast! I don't know what I'll do when he starts driving, or....gulp....dating. Girls at school already tell him if he could date they would date him. what?! He is growing into such a great young man. He loves scouts, he is in percussion at school, love to draw and loves to learn about Egypt.

Blowing out the candles!

His awesome face...I mean the double edge nerf sword he got for his bday. He also got $52..Can you say CHA-CHING?!
I let him take 3 friends to the movie for his friends party this year. Silly me forgot the camera. But he had a lot of fun. We went and saw Smurfs and got ice cream after. yummy!

Tuesday was a very special day. He was ordained a Deacon. Grandpa Christensen was able to come down and Bro. Tejada his scout leader from our last ward was there, and I very much felt my dad was there also. Our bishop is awesome and talked to him about getting his Eagle done quickly and the responsibilities he now has. I am so proud of him for making good choices and being worthy.

Man I love this kid!
Happy Birthday TC we wouldn't know what to do without you and we love you tons!

*Can you tell those 3 are related or what?! Talk about mini-me's :-)

Tuesday Tid-bit

Not sure if I'll stick with the theme every Tuesday but a couple of tib-bits

Insanity workout truly is insane! Love it, but insane. Dying after the fitness test...

If we think we have it bad, look around, someone always has it worse. My heart goes out to those who are dealing with major struggles right now, and it sure makes me appreciate what I have.

We've been in the house 1 week and a day. Most things are unpacked. Loving the space. I made 2 new friends on Sunday. Yay for friends!

I need to figure out what to do with Tanner during the day. Poor kids is pretty bored with out brothers to play with and a mom who has to do her own homework.

Loving the cooler weather! Could yesterday have been more perfect? Think not!

A few projects I want to dive into and still need to work on those gifts from my Feb. post.

That's about it. Thanks for reading!

Our house

This post is mostly for family (but anyone can look ;-) )who wanted a tour of the house. I like it. It's a little bigger than our last one, the yard is bigger and we're on a flat street so the kids can ride their skateboards and bikes easier. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood, there is only 3 streets to it. We don't know many of our neighbors yet, but we're hoping to get to know some. A first for us....we're the only members in this neighborhood.

Family room:

Kitchen:
Dinning room:
Entry:
Boys room:
2nd bathroom:
other boys room:
Master bedroom:
Master bath:
And there you have it. It's all a pretty big mess right now, but it IS only 5 days since we moved in.

Wedding and Bridal Shower

Our last trip to UT was a whorl-wind! We had a lot of fun doing wedding, shower, luncheon, and playing. It was really busy, but busy isn't all bad. I love being around family and that is one thing I miss down here.

Among all the madness we went up in the canyon and had a roasted hotdogs, chips and cookies. I LOVED it! I miss camping SO bad! That's what you do in UT to cool down during the hot summer months, camp. Not so much here. No where to go to cool off and it doesn't cool down at night either. Oh-well makes those family trips that much more fun.

I took quite a few pictures, so I'll let most of them do the talking.

I love this picture! Love Amber's face :-)

Heather's beautiful bouquet. Both brides this summer had beautiful colors.

Shower time! Heather got a lot of good stuff!

Good part of the gang. A little of Tyler's family, little of Heathers friends and a lot of Heathers family.

The traditional quilt.

Say cheese!

Just 'cause ;-)

Clark and his look-a-like brother Allen

CJ and Tate

Lovely ladies!!! woot- woot!

Most of the siblings, minus Justin and Kady.
Thanks for getting married Heather and Tyler so we could have a great couple of days!
